Discover the Conguitos Goflex Barefoot Spring Collection

Did you know their shoes could be holding back their growth? Discover the new Conguitos Goflex Barefoot spring collection Have you ever noticed how a child walks when barefoot? Their toes spread naturally, they have better balance, and they move more freely and agilely. Watching them grow is one of life’s greatest adventures, and to make sure nothing holds them back, their footwear should be their best ally, not an obstacle. With warmer weather arriving and longer days inviting children to make the most of every minute of outdoor play, at Conguitos we have launched the new Goflex Barefoot collection, a line created with one clear goal: to bring them the feeling of being barefoot with every step, allowing their feet to grow strong, healthy, and above all, free. Why is everyone talking about Barefoot footwear? You have probably heard about it at the park or read about it in the usual parenting groups. Respectful footwear is no longer just a trend, it is a necessity supported by experts. But why is it causing such a stir right now? The answer is simple: there is more information available now. Today we know that for the foot muscles to develop properly, shoes should not restrict movement, but allow freedom. 5 reasons why Conguitos Goflex Barefoot will be your best ally this spring The success of our barefoot-inspired line is based on the child’s complete wellbeing: Freedom of movement: Thanks to its full flexibility, the shoe follows every jump and run without resistance. Real muscle development: A thin sole allows children to feel the ground, improving balance and sensory feedback. Room for their toes: The wide toe box ensures that toes can grow aligned and without pressure. Natural posture (Zero Drop): We keep the same height at heel and toe to support their spine from their very first steps. Encourages independence: Designed with easy fastenings so they can learn to put their shoes on by themselves. The checklist for their next adventures We know life never slows down, which is why we have created options for every taste (and all for just €29.99): White Canvas Mary Jane: The essential basic that can handle any weekend plan. Benefits of barefoot shoes for kids

Benefits of barefoot shoes for kids

Table of Contents What are barefoot shoes? How are barefoot shoes different from regular shoes? What advantages do barefoot shoes offer over conventional footwear? How to start with barefoot shoes for children Tips for choosing barefoot shoes for kids When we talk about children's footwear, we think about being with them in every step they take, from their first crawls to their playground adventures. At Conguitos, we know each child has their own rhythm, their own way of exploring and discovering the world. That’s why today we want to talk about a type of shoe inspired by natural movement: barefoot shoes. A choice that more and more families are embracing for comfort, freedom and respect for healthy foot development. What are barefoot shoes? Barefoot shoes are designed to mimic the feeling of walking barefoot, while still offering the protection needed for everyday life. Their key features include: Thin, flexible sole Wide toe box that allows the toes to move freely Zero drop (no height difference between heel and toe) Lightweight, breathable materials Their purpose is to help children move naturally, strengthening their feet without restricting their freedom of movement. How are barefoot shoes different from regular shoes? The differences are easy to spot: Regular shoes typically have thicker soles, rigid structures and some heel elevation. They are designed to cushion and stabilize but can sometimes restrict the natural movement of the foot. Barefoot shoes, on the other hand, offer total flexibility. The thin sole lets children feel the ground better, improving balance and proprioception; their ability to understand how their body moves in space. While traditional shoes prioritize reinforced protection, barefoot shoes aim to respect the foot’s natural shape and allow muscles to work freely. What advantages do barefoot shoes offer over conventional footwear? Choosing barefoot shoes for kids can bring many benefits: They strengthen foot musclesBecause movement is not restricted, the feet work more and develop more naturally. They improve balance and coordinationFeeling the ground helps children adjust posture and understand each step better. They encourage a healthier gaitZero drop supports the body’s natural alignment. They enhance real comfortThe wide toe box prevents rubbing, pressure and that usual “tight toes” feeling. Total freedom to playFlexibility and lightness make it easier for kids to move, run and explore without limits. How to start with barefoot shoes for children If you want to introduce barefoot shoes into your child’s routine, the best way is to do it gradually: Start with short periods at home or on calm walks Extend the usage time little by little so their feet adapt Observe how they feel, most children adapt quickly because it’s a very natural sensation The goal isn’t to replace all their shoes immediately, but to find a healthy balance and let them explore comfortably. Tips for choosing barefoot shoes for kids When choosing good barefoot shoes, these points will help: Check flexibility: they should bend easily in all directions Look for a thin sole, but with enough grip to prevent slipping Choose breathable materials for active days Make sure the toe box is wide so their toes have room Check the size with some extra space to avoid pressure At Conguitos, we offer barefoot shoes for different ages, from babies to teenagers, designed to support their growth, comfort and unique way of moving. Barefoot shoes are a wonderful option for families who want to support natural foot development. Flexible, lightweight and comfortable, they allow kids to explore freely. From first steps to adolescence, what matters most is choosing footwear that respects their rhythm, curiosity and all the stories they live with every movement.

ZAPATILLAS BAREFOOT CON LUCES

New collection of light-up barefoot sneakers

Who said respectful footwear had to be boring? At Conguitos, we know that growing up is a child’s greatest adventure, and to live it to the fullest, little feet need two things: total freedom and lots of fun. We’ve already been the first to launch barefoot sneakers with lights, and this year… we’re bringing a new collection! We’re aiming to cement our position as a leading brand in the barefoot category for children. The magic of walking as if you were barefoot Can a shoe with lights really be good for their feet? The answer is YES. Our big innovation has been integrating an ultra-flat battery into a super-thin sole. The result? A zero-drop, lightweight, ultra-flexible sneaker that lights up with every step—while still respecting natural foot development 100%. It’s the perfect balance: the design kids want and the peace of mind parents get from a product recommended by podiatry experts. We highlight four models to match each child’s personality: Pure energy. Trainers with a shiny finish. Their multicolor look makes them the ideal accessory to fill every daily adventure with light and color. The classic trainer. A clean, timeless white design with contrasting red and blue details—perfect for school or any everyday activity. Futuristic style. With a metallic finish, these trainers are the perfect wardrobe staple for a modern look. They add a sophisticated touch that goes with everything, while keeping feet comfortable at all times. Natural and versatile. A neutral-tone design, highlighted by blue and green details. Subtle and easy to match with any everyday outfit. Requirements every barefoot shoe must meet For footwear to be considered truly foot-friendly, it must meet a set of technical requirements that ensure natural foot development. The Conguitos Goflex Barefoot line is designed according to these standards: Full torsion and no reinforcements: the structure has no rigid elements, allowing the foot to move and flex freely. Thin sole: promotes ground contact and helps with balance. Zero drop: a sole with the same height from heel to toe, respecting the spine’s natural alignment. Wide toe box: allows free movement of the toes, so the foot can grow without deformities and helps prevent future podiatric issues. Hook-and-loop strap closure: encourages the child’s independence and allows a secure, adjustable fit. Removable insole: helps monitor foot growth in case it’s time to change size, and also improves ventilation and shoe hygiene.

When do babies start walking?

When do babies start walking and how to support this milestone

Contents When do babies start walking? How to support your baby’s first steps Create a safe space Encourage without pressure Let them go barefoot at home Choose the right shoes when needed Play to strengthen their legs Respect their rhythm The first year of life is full of beautiful milestones: the first smile, the first sounds… and of course, those magical first steps. That moment when your baby decides to explore the world on their own is emotional, exciting and unforgettable. But when do babies actually start walking? And how can you support them so they feel safe and confident? In this post, we’ll guide you through what to expect and how to accompany your little one as they learn to walk. When do babies start walking? Every baby develops at their own pace, but most little ones start taking their first steps between 10 and 18 months. Some do it earlier, some later, both are completely normal. What matters most is understanding the general progression: 6–9 months: They sit up without support and start crawling. 9–12 months: They pull themselves up to stand and begin moving sideways while holding onto furniture. 12–15 months: They start taking their first independent steps. 15–18 months: They walk with more balance, stability, and confidence. If your baby takes a little longer, don’t worry, this stage varies a lot. What truly matters is that your child stays curious, active, and eager to explore. How to support your baby’s first steps 1. Create a safe space Remove obstacles, add non-slip rugs, and protect sharp corners. A clear, open area gives your little one the confidence they need to move freely. 2. Encourage without pressure Smiles, open arms, claps, and playful interactions are the best motivation. Avoid forcing or “teaching” them to walk, this skill develops naturally. 3. Let them go barefoot at home Barefoot walking strengthens the ankles, improves balance, and helps develop proprioception (body awareness). It’s the best way to practice those first steps. 4. Choose the right shoes when needed When your baby is walking outdoors, it’s essential to choose flexible, lightweight, breathable shoes with non-slip soles. At Conguitos you’ll find models specially designed for early walkers, allowing natural foot movement and safe exploration. 5. Play to strengthen their legs Games like pushing a small cart, standing up with support, or chasing a soft ball help build coordination and stability in a fun way. 6. Respect their rhythm Every child develops differently. Some crawl for months before walking; others skip crawling altogether. Some walk early; others prefer watching before trying. What matters is that your baby feels supported and safe. A small step for your baby, a big moment for the whole family Those first steps are magical. One day they hold onto your hands… and the next they’re ready to explore the world. Supporting your baby through this milestone with patience, affection, and the right footwear will help them walk with confidence and comfort. At Conguitos, we’re here to accompany every one of your little explorer’s steps with footwear designed especially for their needs.

What Are Barefoot Shoes and How Do They Affect Gait?

What Are Barefoot Shoes and How Do They Affect Gait?

During the first years of life, children’s feet are still immature and developing. They grow in size, but their bones, muscles, and ligaments are also forming… Strong, stable feet will help them run, jump, and keep their balance—and of course support their health in the short, medium, and long term. That’s why the type of footwear they wear can directly influence how their feet develop, and also how they move. As a pediatric physiotherapist, I see every day in clinic how unsuitable shoes can alter the way a child walks, deform the foot, make movement harder, or even affect posture. That’s why barefoot (foot-friendly) footwear isn’t a fad, but a way to care for babies’ and children’s natural development. What Is Barefoot Footwear? Barefoot footwear is designed to let the foot move as if it were barefoot, while still protecting it from the ground and the weather—without limiting its development or function. Because a baby’s foot isn’t a smaller version of an adult foot: it is made up of soft cartilage and needs freedom, movement, and stimulation to strengthen and grow properly, helping to prevent injuries in the future. Barefoot footwear supports the foot’s natural development without restricting it. Key Features of Barefoot Footwear Barefoot footwear has specific characteristics, and here’s why: Flexible, Thin Sole The sole should bend easily along its entire length, especially under the forefoot. This allows the foot to adapt to the ground and encourages the muscles to work actively, improving balance and proprioception. Lightweight Shoe A heavy shoe changes the way a child walks, increases effort, and can lead to motor clumsiness, such as frequent tripping. Wide Toe Box Toes should be able to move and spread freely. The toe box should never squeeze them or change their natural alignment. A foot that can splay on contact with the ground improves stability and balance. The big toe plays an active role in overall body biomechanics; if we change its position, we affect the posture of the entire body. No Rigid Heel Counters The foot doesn’t need to be “held”; it needs to be allowed to work. A rigid heel counter restricts natural movement and directly affects the development of the foot muscles, creating a weaker foot and increasing the likelihood of issues such as flat feet. Zero Drop Drop is the difference in height between the heel and the forefoot area. Keeping the foot flat promotes aligned posture and a stable gait. A shoe with an inclined sole alters the body’s alignment and changes how the child loads the foot. At Each Developmental Stage, a Child’s Foot Has Different Needs Pre-walkers: before a baby takes their first steps outdoors, they don’t need shoes—just bare feet. If we need to cover them for warmth, the closest thing to barefoot is something like a non-slip sock. First steps: very flexible, lightweight shoes with good instep support without squeezing. Footwear should still feel as close to barefoot as possible, to interfere as little as possible with gait and development. Mature gait: roughly when the child has been walking steadily for about a year, has started running and jumping with both feet, and is walking confidently, we can use barefoot footwear with a slightly more structured sole. Every Foot Is Unique: Know Its Shape to Choose Well Not all little feet are the same. There are different foot types depending on shape, and each one needs footwear that fits properly. When choosing the right barefoot shoe for your child, it’s also important to respect their individual morphology. That’s why it’s essential to know your child’s foot type and check that it fits within the shoe’s insole. A good way to do this is to remove the insole and place the foot on top. This helps you ensure the shoe respects their natural shape and allows free, healthy movement. Whatever the footwear, free movement and contact with different surfaces are essential for the motor and sensory development of the foot. The best shoes protect without restricting, support without correcting, and respect each child’s pace. Choosing barefoot footwear is an investment in present and future health.

Barefoot shoes: growing as if walking barefoot

Contents Barefoot footwear for babies: freedom from the very first step Barefoot footwear for kids: perfect for tireless explorers Barefoot footwear for teens: strong feet for every challenge A choice for the whole of childhood Frequently Asked Questions Discover our barefoot footwear collections: The moment your little one starts taking their first steps is magical. Every movement is a discovery, and every adventure, a way of learning. And along the way, the shoes they wear can make all the difference. Today we want to share why barefoot shoes are becoming a highly recommended choice for babies, kids, and teens, and how they can support them at every stage of growth. Barefoot footwear for babies: freedom from the very first step During the first months and years, babies’ feet are still developing. Their bones are soft and need freedom of movement to grow strong. That’s why it’s best for them to spend as much time as possible barefoot footwear at home. When they need protection outdoors or in colder weather, barefoot shoes are the perfect alternative: Thin and flexible sole (2–4 mm), so they can feel the ground. Zero drop, meaning no height difference between heel and toe, keeping a natural posture. Wide toe box, allowing their toes to spread naturally. No rigid reinforcements, because they need freedom, not restrictions. With these features, barefoot shoes become a true ally for a natural gait and healthy muscle development. Barefoot footwear for kids: perfect for tireless explorers As they grow, kids turn every day into an adventure: running, jumping, climbing, playing hide and seek, or inventing new worlds. For all this, their feet need to move without restrictions. Barefoot shoes at this stage bring great benefits: Strengthen muscles and ligaments, preventing rigid footwear from limiting their growth. Improve balance and coordination, as they can better feel the surface they walk on. Prevent future issues such as bunions or compressed toes, thanks to the wide toe box. For everyday wear, choosing lightweight, flexible shoes with a secure fit is the best way for them to enjoy adventures without limits. Barefoot footwear for teens: strong feet for every challenge In adolescence, feet have a more defined shape but are still constantly on the move: sports, school, free time, and outings with friends. This is when it’s easy to fall into the trap of trendy shoes that are often narrow or stiff. Alternating with or prioritizing barefoot shoes can make a big difference: Supports natural posture alignment, reducing knee or back pain. Provides natural stability for sports and daily activities. Leaves room for the toes, preventing discomfort during this key growth stage. This way, they can enjoy every plan comfortably, with feet prepared for any challenge. A choice for the whole of childhood Barefoot shoes are not a passing trend—they’re a philosophy that respects the natural function of the foot. From first steps to adolescence, they allow every child to grow strong, balanced, and free to move. And most importantly: they support each child’s unique way of discovering the world, without limiting their curiosity or their eagerness to play. Because every step counts. And when taken with just the right protection and the freedom they need, it’s a step towards a healthier, happier future. Frequently Asked Questions How can I transition to barefoot footwear safely? Transition gradually. If feet are used to rigid shoes with thick soles, switching straight to barefoot can cause muscle soreness or overload. Start with short wear periods and increase time little by little. Pair the change with simple foot mobility and strengthening exercises to ease adaptation. From what age is barefoot footwear recommended? It can be used from the very first steps, as long as you choose a model suited to the child’s stage of development. During the first months, it’s best for babies to go barefoot whenever possible at home. When they need protection outdoors, barefoot shoes are the most respectful option for their natural movement. Is barefoot footwear recommended for adults too? More and more adults are choosing barefoot shoes for their benefits. They encourage a more conscious stride, help strengthen the foot muscles, and may reduce discomfort linked to conventional shoes (stiffness, limited mobility, or toe pain). If you’ve never worn barefoot before, make a gradual transition so your feet can adapt. What should I look for when choosing barefoot footwear? For kids, check these essentials to ensure the shoe truly respects natural foot development: Thin, flexible sole: bends easily in all directions so the foot can move freely and muscles work naturally. Wide toe box: enough space for toes to splay without pressure or rubbing. Zero drop: heel and forefoot at the same level to support balanced posture. Lightweight, breathable materials: avoid heavy shoes that limit mobility. Secure fit: closes well with hook-and-loop or laces; snug but not tight, with no foot slipping inside. For children, check sizing frequently—feet grow fast and shoes that are too tight restrict movement. The ideal barefoot shoe combines comfort, freedom, and protection at every stage of growth.
